The heart of the Assembly of Committees is 17 highly interactive committees and forums. Each committee and forum is dedicated to addressing issues that impact one particular area of the cold chain and require association response or direction.

The success of Assembly of Committees depends on member participation and engagement. This year, each committee will "Strive for Excellence" - the GCCA 2010-2011 theme - with programming and discussions devoted to safety, best practices, quality, and service.

What is expected of a committee or forum member?

At the meeting, committee and forum members are encouraged to actively participate in all discussions. Your guidance and input at these meetings has the potential to influence future association activities and the industry at-large.

The level of time commitment depends on the committee or forum, but typically committee and forum members devote no more than 20 hours a year. Each committee and forum meets once a year, in-person at the GCCA Assembly of Committees. Throughout the year, committee and forum members may be called upon periodically to review and comment on association initiatives via email or conference call.

The venue for the meetings is the Four Seasons Hotel in Washington, DC. This world-class property is in Georgetown, just steps from dozens of restaurants and shops.
