GCCA Participates in Canadian 2023 Pre-Budget Process
Share:
On February 9th, the GCCA submitted comments to the Canadian Department of Finance 2023 as a part of its pre-budget consultation process. GCCA’s comments included recommendations in the four following areas:
Recommendation 1 – Labour: Increase support for workforce development initiatives and policies to address labour challenges across the food supply chain.
Recommendation 2 – Regulations: Improve regulatory consistency and flexibility to address current and future supply chain disruptions and shifts in consumer patterns.
Recommendation 3 – Technology: Increase support for continued development and implementation of supply chain technology, including the strengthening of cyber security across the food industry.
Recommendation 4 – Infrastructure: Ensure that funding for projects to improve the fluidity of supply chains is dedicated to the enhancement of cold chain infrastructure, which has a multiplier benefit on the agri-food supply chains.
GCCA will continue to engage with the Canadian government as the 2023 budget process moves forward to advance key industry issues to policy makers.
