GCCA Participates in Sustainable Agriculture Strategy Consultation

Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) has launched consultations on the “Sustainable Agriculture Strategy.” Including a discussion document. GCCA submitted comments on March 31^st that discussed the key areas for improving sustainability and the role of the cold chain.  One of the major focal points in GCCA’s comments centered around reducing food loss and waste.  Other topics addressed included energy efficiency, the role of technology and digitization, the value of promoting frozen as a mechanism to increase local food consumption, and the need to improve regulatory consistency.  GCCA will continue to actively engage with the government as the consultation process moves forward.
