The House of Commons Industry and Technology Committee report on “Small and Medium Enterprises in Canada: Charting a Competitive Future” has received a government response.

As part of a consultation response to the Canadian government, GCCA called on the government to “create incentives for retirees to go back to work, if they choose, through tax breaks on their income.” In response to a similar recommendation from the committee, the government notes that it is “in alignment with this recommendation” and that it “will continue to examine ways to ensure that the tax system does not create barriers to seniors who want to remain in the workforce.”
