As part of the newly awarded Food for Progress Cold Chain project, GCCF developed and delivered extended training on cold chain in developing and emerging markets. The audience for the training included staff from the Food for Progress Mauritania project, which is implemented by Partners of the America, as well as USDA staff from the Foreign Agriculture Service. The training was led by GCCA’s Vice President of International Projects, Amanda Brondy. Meant to provide a comprehensive overview of cold chain in emerging markets based on GCCF and member experience, the training included information on refrigeration, cold chain links from postharvest to transport to storage and retail, commodity storage, cold chain drivers and pathways to development, challenges and opportunities, and trends.
